Starting a Business

Christian Financial Credit Union has partnered with the Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center (MI-SBTDC) to offer our members who are interested in exploring the possibility of entrepreneurship a place to start!

Many people have considered the idea of running their own business, but don't completely understand what's involved or where to start. Many times, you may think the place to start is by getting financing from the credit union. However, in order to give financial approval, we look for a series of key factors including a business plan, market research and financial projections. This is not an easy process and often preparation is needed to get these key pieces put together.

The MI-SBTDC provides one-on-one, confidential, no-cost counseling to small businesses along with assistance in gathering secondary research information and offering training programs that aid in business development.

Key assistance provided by the MI-SBTDC includes:

  • Business Plan Development
  • Capital Access Planning
  • Financial Analysis
  • Cash Flow Management
  • Strategic Planning
  • New Market Development

The MI-SBTDC also provides classes on a series of topics, including the Fundamentals of Starting a Business, Business Legal Issues, Writing a Business Plan, and more! Click here for a full list of currently available classes!
