What an exciting day it was! Celebrating this milestone with retired CEOs, our board members and dignitaries like Sterling Heights Mayor Michael Taylor and Congressman Sander Levin, as well as our employees and friends made it a joyful celebration of what’s to come.
The day left me feeling enthusiastic and enlivened for the future of Christian Financial, for the way this new building will help us grow to serve you, our members, even better into the future.
Watching our credit union grow over the years has been truly remarkable. When Christian Financial was founded back in 1950, I doubt our founders realized the growth that would happen over 68 years, or the number of members’ lives we would touch. Since 1950 we have helped thousands get a home for their family, a car to drive to work, or access to affordable financial services.
We have grown from a small branch located inside a church to become a landmark in the community. This is a testament to the trust that you, our members, have placed in Christian Financial, and a sign that we are committed to serving the needs of our region into the future.
As the credit union prepares for our new building we know that we are not just building a new headquarters, but a place where innovative ideas can shape the future of our credit union.
The 40,000 square foot building will be located on the northeast corner of 15 Mile Road and Van Dyke Ave in Sterling Heights and will house over 100 employees. These employees will have the opportunity to move freely throughout the building, choosing the environment that inspires them each day. Several spaces throughout the building will focus on collaboration, including a library, movie theatre, coffee shop, and much more! Spaces outside will serve to inspire teams, including a walking path and apple orchard.
We are confident that our friends at Thompson Phelan will give our campus the personalized and innovative touch that our employees can use to better serve our members. Our anticipated opening date is in spring/summer 2019.
Christian Financial has not arrived to this mountaintop moment alone – we do it with the trust and support of our board, our employees and our members who entrust us with their financial future every day. I look forward to sharing more information on our new headquarters as we get closer to project completion.
For you and because of you,
Patty Campbell
