Teller I

Job Description:
​Provide service to Credit Union members by conducting proper transactions, and referring Credit Union products and services that will meet members’ needs and enhance their financial position.
Standard activities include:

  • Provides excellent teller service that enhances the financial well being of each member in an environment of helpfulness and trust.
  • With guidance and direction, promotes cross sells and explains Christian Financial Credit Union (CFCU) products and services such as savings accounts and certificates; checking accounts; credit and debit cards; secured and unsecured and new and used vehicle loan programs; direct deposit and payment; online banking; and money orders.
  • Responsible for accurate, prompt, friendly, and efficient member transactions.
  • Performs routine cash receipt and payment actions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Receives checks and cash for deposit to savings, loan, and draft accounts, verifies deposit amounts, examines checks for endorsement and negotiability, and enters transactions via an on-line terminal.
  • Places hold on accounts as required. Processes member withdrawals and accurately disburses funds.
  • Accountable for assigned change fund and other instruments of value.
  • Balances each day’s transactions and verifies cash totals.
  • Ensures the teller station is properly stocked with forms and supplies.
  • Reports malfunctions of teller terminal and other equipment used.
  • Counts, checks, and packages coins and currency in teller drawer.
  • Performs daily processing and balancing of checks in Check 21.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School graduate
Cash handling and Sales experience preferred

Teller Supervisor

Job Description:
Supervises daily teller line activities/operations while processing customer transactions. Solves problems, helps with complex transaction related matters for tellers. Guides tellers in handling member needs and assists with teller related discrepancies and problems. Coaches employees and has daily sales meetings with teller staff. The Teller Supervisor directly manages the teller line of the assigned branch and is the direct manager for Teller positions.
Standard activities include:

Staff Development/Leadership:

  • Leads and identifies coaching opportunities for direct reports.
  • Trains all newly hired teller staff.
  • Conducts mid-year and annual performance reviews.
  • Identifies training needs of teller staff.
  • Actively participates in branch meetings and speaks on various topics.
  • Holds meetings with teller staff on at least a weekly basis.
  • Assists staff in recognizing and facilitating cross-selling opportunities.
  • Meets with Tellers and Assistant Teller Supervisors monthly to review sales performance.
  • Provides regular input as to staffing of teller area, including recommendations as to hiring,
    advancement, promotion, or other change of status, including termination.
  • Identifies and offers credit union products and services to improve the financial well-being of
    members.
  • Sets a positive example of the service culture in the teller area.
  • Supervises daily activities of teller staff engaged in processing transactions.
  • Schedules work for efficiency; approves personal and vacation time off for teller staff.
  • Ensures members are serviced promptly, and resolves questions and member complaints.
  • Monitors daily over and short records and related monthly reports.
  • Documents performance in accordance with teller balancing policy.
  • Processes customer transactions where required.
Operational Responsibilities
  • Achieves sales goals on a monthly basis and monitors tellers to ensure that they are achieving
    set goals.
  • Reviews and monitors dashboard to ensure staff are meeting required goals.
  • Conducts teller drawer audits on a regular basis.
  • Provides the full range of teller services quickly, accurately, and courteously in an
    environment of trust and helpfulness.
  • Assures each teller balances daily and all monies are secured in accordance with established
    procedure.
  • Maintains cash fund through proper supply and control of vault cash; orders cash, verifies
    cash received, and counts and records currency and coin.
  • Facilitates teller buy and sells of cash to and from the vault.
  • Maintains inventory of checks, money orders, and other negotiable instruments.
  • Responsible for opening and closing of the branch on a daily basis.
  • Any other duties required to seamlessly service our members.

Qualifications:
High School graduate
Three years or greater of increasing experience in a Credit Union or other financial institution, or a Bachelor's Degree.
Cash handling and Sales experience required
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
Supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Member Service Center Representative

Job Description:
The Member Solutions Center (MSC) is the Credit Union’s virtual branch, providing phone and online support to members and enriching their experience by promoting robust financial products and services. The MSC Representative provides attentive and courteous service to members who contact the Credit Union. Cross sells Credit Union products and services that will make members’ experience with the Credit Union more convenient and meet their financial needs. Represents the Credit Union positively and professionally at all times.
Standard activities include:

  • Answers incoming phone calls and assists members by performing a broad range of member
    service functions, including processing member transactions, assisting with account inquiries,
    answering questions, and promoting Credit Union products and services.
  • Demonstrates strong member service skills by listening to members, determining root cause of
    concerns, researching, and resolving questions and concerns orally or in writing. Provides
    thorough, clear explanations and ensures member satisfaction with resolution.
  • Routes member calls to other departments/personnel, or to supervisor, as appropriate.
  • Meets or exceeds sales goals by cross selling products and services to members.
  • Initiates transfers, loan payments, stop payments, and wire transfer requests.
  • Submits pre-authorized Credit Union advances to appropriate department.
  • Provides account information regarding balances, check clearings, and statement information.
  • Provides rate information.
  • Provides membership/joint membership information and discusses Credit Union promotions.
  • Maintains thorough notes and attaches all necessary documents to members’ accounts.
  • Replies to all incoming emails from Net-Branch.
  • Conducts conversations through Net-Chat.
  • Completes all assigned tickets by end of day.
  • Monitors dashboards daily to ensure work is current and completed timely.
  • Provides accurate, efficient, friendly service to members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School graduate
One year of job related experience in a member service or like position in a financial services operation
Sales experience strongly preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office suite
