YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

+ What is the official merger date?

The official merger date between Motor City Co-op Credit Union and Christian Financial Credit Union was April 1, 2020. Though a data conversion to bring Motor City members on to the Christian Financial system is scheduled for September 14, 2020.

+ Will my account number change?

Your account number is now called your member number. In most cases your member number will not change. A select number of members will be contacted directly if there are any changes to their member number

+ Will I need to notify companies that are making automatic deposits/withdrawals to my account of any changes?

For all members, with the exception of the small group whose account numbers will be changing, you will not need to change anything with companies that are making automatic deposits/withdrawals to your accounts. We will be keeping the information required to do those transactions exactly the same on the CFCU system. If you are setting up new automatic deposits/withdrawals after September 14th you should provide the Christian Financial routing number: 272484289

+ How do I contact the credit union?

You may continue to use the same phone number you have been using to contact Motor City. On September 14th, that phone number will be routed to the CFCU Member Solutions Center. Additionally, if you have ever contacted Motor City via email, there will be a change in email addresses as of September 14th. You can contact our Member Solutions Center via email at memberservice@cfcumail.org.

NEW FEATURES FROM CFCU

+ Loan Payments

Any loan payments set up in Motor City’s Net Teller Online Banking will be converted into Christian Financial’s system on September 11. Please note that once the payments are converted on September 11, they will not be able to be edited or cancelled in Online Banking unless you contact Member Solutions after September 14. However, new loan payments can be set up inside Christian Financial’s online banking.

+ Joint Owners

Joint owners are now able to have their own log in to Online Banking. If you have a relationship on an account, you will now be able to view those accounts with one login. For example, if you are joint on a child’s account, you will be able to see both the accounts you have a primary role on and the account you are joint on with your child under one login.

+ Account transfers

Scheduled account to account transfers will not be converted into your new online banking, but will be converted into our system. Please note that once the transfers are converted on September 11th, they will not be able to be edited or cancelled in Online Banking unless you contact the Member Solutions Center on September 14th.

+ Cross Account Transfers

Accounts you did not own but had the ability to transfer into will still be available to make transfers to.  You will see these in the Transfers tab as an option to “Transfer to an Account that is not yours”.

+ Bill Pay

Bill Pay users, please take a moment to verify all of your payees have an address. This includes both companies and individuals have been paying. Payees that are missing addresses will not be converted. Please make sure that your primary pay account is your checking account, as this is a requirement to use Bill Pay.

+ Business Members

Business accounts will be separate from personal accounts. You will have a separate login for your business account beginning September 14.
