2022 Bathanti-D’Agostino Memorial Scholarships

It is the belief of Christian Financial Credit Union and Motor City Consumers Cooperative that the Bathanti-D’Agostino Memorial Scholarships will encourage and assist recipients to further their education and, through the benefits of the scholarship, make significant contributions to society and the community in which they will eventually reside.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of scholastic ability and community involvement. A maximum of five scholarships may be awarded annually. The Scholarship Selection Committee shall consist of Motor City Consumer Cooperative Board of Directors and/or Christian Financial Credit Union management. The Scholarship Award will be sent directly to the college or university, at which the recipient will enroll, to be credited to the recipient’s account, and used in accordance with the scholarship and financial aid policy of the college or university.

To be considered for a scholarship, all applicants must submit:
 
  1. A completed application for scholarship no later than Friday, May 6, 2022. 
  2.  A 2021/2022 high school transcript.
  3. Two (2) letters of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, employer, community leader or neighbor.
  4. A resume that includes academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and employment history.
  5. A typed essay of 500-1000 words explaining how you exemplify the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People”.
An email notification will be sent to you upon receipt of your scholarship application via Docusign. The outcome of scholarship awards will be emailed to all participants by Friday, May 20, 2022.

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:
(a) Be a high school senior who will be graduating during the current academic school year, and is eligible to enter a college or university of their choice during the forth-coming academic year.
(b) Be able to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Scholarship Selection Committee a distinct aptitude for higher education, in addition to significant academic and social achievements during the applicant’s high school education.
(c) Employees and their families of Christian Financial Credit Union and Motor City Consumers Cooperative, Inc. are not eligible.

IMPORTANT:
It is your responsibility to apply for, and gain admission to, the college or university you select. Submitting this Bathanti-D’Agostino Memorial Scholarship Application does not constitute an application for college admission. If the scholarship award is not claimed by October 31 of the year it was accepted/approved, the scholarship will be considered forfeited.

*Christian Financial Credit Union Employees, as well as immediate family members of employees and board members are exempt from winning a Bathanti-D'Agostino Memorial Scholarship.
