If a check is presented that does not match your submitted file, we will flag it as an exception. You will be notified to review the item and decide whether to pay or return it. If you realize a check was missed, you can use the “manual entry” option in your online banking to add it after the initial file submission.
You do not need to wait for the next day’s file. You can typically submit a new, updated file, or use an “Add Check” or “Uploaded Checks” feature within the online banking portal to securely add individual checks or a series of checks in real-time.
Deadlines for processing are strict. Decisions must be made by 12 PM EST. If you do not act on an exception by the cutoff time, the default rule will automatically be applied—CFCU defaults to “Pay” all exception items.
