CEO Corner | Expanding Our Reach & Growing Across Michigan

On July 1, 2025, Christian Financial Credit Union proudly completed a strategic merger with Catholic Vantage Financial (CVF Credit Union) and expanded our charter to serve the entire state of Michigan. This milestone marked a significant moment in our history—one that reflects our commitment to growth, innovation, and service to our members.

CVF Credit Union brought a legacy of community-focused service and shared values that aligned beautifully with our mission. By joining forces, we strengthened our ability to deliver Everyday Easy® financial solutions to more individuals and families across Michigan. We welcomed CVF members and employees into the Christian Financial family, and together, we began building a future rooted in accessibility, convenience, and care.

The charter expansion allowed us to open our doors to anyone who resides in Michigan. This means more people—from Detroit to the Upper Peninsula—can now benefit from CFCU membership and experience the personalized service, competitive rates, and digital tools that define Christian Financial. In addition to these transformative projects, CFCU continued to progress in our efforts to ensure Everyday Easy® service delivery at every touchpoint.

In 2025 we worked to eliminate payments gaps by implementing digital card issuance – a technology that pushes card credentials into mobile wallets, without waiting for a new card to arrive in the mail. Our cards now also come with tap-to-pay technology, ensuring a quicker payment experience at the point of sale.

Through our partnership as a member of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLBI), we participated in several grant programs in 2025, distributing over $300,000 in grants for down payment assistance and repairs and modifications to keep individuals in their home. Additionally, we were able to secure $19,800 from the FHLBI for an Elevate Small Business grant for one of our business members.

We also launched our partnership with Michigan Saves, a program to help originate loans for individuals who implement new environmentally-friendly heating and cooling solutions for their homes. This program helps homeowners find lower-cost financing for environmentally friendly solutions to upgrade their home’s efficiency.

Last year wasn’t just about growth—it was about deepening our impact. With a broader reach, we’re better positioned to support financial wellness across Michigan, empower communities, and deliver on our promise of Everyday Easy at every touchpoint.
