
High School Graduates Receive $10,000 from CFCU
Sterling Heights, Mich., (Aug. 11, 2025) – Christian Financial Credit Union has awarded a total of $10,000 in scholarships to 15 exceptional high school seniors through two scholarship programs – the Bathanti-D’Agostino Memorial Scholarship and Catholic School Scholarship program. Scholarship recipients from both programs were chosen based on academic excellence, leadership, and community involvement.
Bathanti-D’Agostino Memorial Scholarship:
Christian Financial Credit Union awarded 10 $750 scholarships – totaling $7,500 – through the Bathanti-D’Agostino Memorial Scholarship. This program honors Christian Financial’s founding pioneers and celebrates students who demonstrate strong academic achievements and community involvement. Applicants submitted transcripts, letters of recommendation, a resume, and an essay on how they embody the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People.”
This year’s recipients include:

- Lilly Zuzga, Eisenhower High School
- Adyson Tomaszycki, Anchor Bay High School
- Uma Ludwig, Center Line High School
- Henry David Buss, Homeschool
- Shaun Gianino, Lincoln High School
- Rachel Korson, Stoney Creek High School
- Sean Mondello, Utica High School
- Ava White, Renaissance High School
Catholic School Scholarship
Christian Financial Credit Union awarded five $500 scholarships to students from local Catholic High Schools, totaling $2,500. Recipients were selected by their schools for demonstrating academic excellence, leadership, and strong character within their school communities.
This year’s recipients include:
- A’lana Osborne, Notre Dame Preparatory School
- Raphael Ayoungang Tsakem, Detroit Catholic Central High School
- Evonna Karam, Regina High School
- Lorenzo Merpi, Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School
- Vianna Giorgis, De La Salle Collegiate High School
These scholarship programs aim to support the academic journeys of local students and promote a brighter, more inclusive future for the communities Christian Financial Credit Union serves.
