Christian Financial Credit Union Presents $10,000 Donation to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit Through Alloya Corporate Federal Credit Union’s Celebrate Your Story Initiative
Sterling Heights, Mich. (Oct. 30, 2026) – On October 27th, Christian Financial Credit Union presented a $10,000 donation to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit in recognition of the organization’s impact on individuals and families throughout metro Detroit.
The donation was made possible through Alloya Corporate Federal Credit Union’s Celebrate Your Story initiative, a nationwide campaign commemorating Alloya’s 15th anniversary. Christian Financial Credit Union’s story, centered on its partnership with The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit, was selected among the first 250 submissions to receive a $10,000 award.
Upon receiving the $10,000 award through Alloya’s Celebrate Your Story initiative, Christian Financial Credit Union paid it forward, directing the full donation to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit to support its vital programs and services.
Christian Financial Credit Union’s submitted story highlighted the longstanding partnership between CFCU and The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit, and the impact of programs such as the Community Market, Camp Ozanam, and The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, where Christian Financial employees regularly volunteer. Christian Financial and The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit also partner on a microloan program to help vulnerable individuals break out of cycles of payday lending.
“We are honored to support The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit and the incredible work they do every day,” said Christine Quitter, vice president of community outreach at Christian Financial Credit Union. “This recognition was really a reflection of their impact, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to turn this award into direct support for the people and families they serve.”
Christian Financial surprised The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit with the $10,000 donation. The funds will help further the organization’s mission of providing essential services and resources to individuals and families facing hardship across metro Detroit.
“This gift is a reminder of what can happen when organizations come together with a shared commitment to helping others,” Quitter added. “We’re thankful to Alloya for making this opportunity possible and proud to support The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit’s mission.”
“We are surprised and honored to be awarded this donation from Christian Financial Credit Union, said Mary Lynn Faunda Donovan, CEO of The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Detroit. “Demand for our services is great, especially as the winter season is upon us. Ever dollar helps further our mission of helping neighbors through tough times.”
