Christian Financial Credit Union Announces $20,000 Elevate Grant for Kuhnhenn Brewing Company
FHLBank Indianapolis Elevate Grant funding will support ingredient purchases and ongoing production operations for Warren-based craft beverage manufacturer
Sterling Heights, Mich. (Nov. 2, 2026) – On October 29th, Christian Financial Credit Union partnered with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLBank Indianapolis) to award a $20,000 Elevate Grant to Kuhnhenn Brewing Company, a Warren-based craft brewery, winery, and meadery. The funding will be used to purchase fermentables, including malt, rice, and brewing sugars, which are essential raw materials used in the production of the company’s beverages.
The grant will help offset rising ingredient costs, improve cash flow, and support production capacity, allowing Kuhnhenn Brewing Company to continue meeting customer demand, maintain efficient operations, and support long-term business sustainability.
“Kuhnhenn Brewing Company has been an important part of the local business community for nearly three decades,” said Christine Quitter, vice president of Community Outreach at Christian Financial Credit Union. “We’re proud to partner with FHLBank Indianapolis to provide funding that helps local businesses continue growing, creating jobs, and contributing to the communities they serve.”
Founded in 1998 by brothers Eric and Bret Kuhnhenn, Kuhnhenn Brewing Company is a locally owned craft brewery, winery, and meadery with locations in Warren and Clinton Township, producing a diverse portfolio of craft beers, meads, ciders, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages. The company serves customers through its taprooms, restaurant operations, special events, and distribution network throughout Michigan.
“This grant provides meaningful support as we continue navigating increased production costs,” said Eric Kuhnhenn, Co-Owner of Kuhnhenn Brewing Company. “The funding will help us purchase essential ingredients and continue producing the high-quality products our customers have come to expect.”
The Elevate Grant Program supports small businesses by providing funding through member financial institutions to promote long-term sustainability and economic growth.
“Small businesses are vital to strong communities and local economic development,” Quitter added. “We’re excited to support Kuhnhenn Brewing Company as they continue investing in their operations, serving customers across Michigan, and contributing to the region’s small business economy.”
