Summer 2026 Grant Awardees Announced

Christian Financial Outreach & Impact Foundation Awards $14,600 in Grants to Local Nonprofits 

Awardees included Kids On The Go, New Hope Center for Grief Support and The Rainbow Connection 

Sterling Heights, Mich., (Aug. 12, 2026) – The Christian Financial Credit Union Outreach & Impact Foundation has selected eight nonprofit organizations to receive funding through its Summer 2026 grant cycle. The grants will help support programs that provide critical resources, educational opportunities, family support services, and youth development initiatives throughout southeast Michigan. 

The following organizations were selected as summer 2026 recipients of the Christian Financial Credit Union Outreach & Impact Foundation grants: 

  • Aktive Minds Foundation: $500 will support the Character Development Basketball Program, covering items such as team shirts, sporting equipment, and classroom supplies. 
  • New Hope Center for Grief Support: $2,500 will help fund the Annual Kid’s Camp, a free two-day bereavement camp for children ages 4-14 coping with the loss of a loved one. 
  • Kids On The Go: $2,500 will support resource center services that provide families of children with special needs access to tools, knowledge, and support to help their children thrive. 
  • CARES of Farmington Hills, Inc.: $2,000 will provide nutritious food and essential household items to more than 900 households served each month across the organization’s eight-community service area. 
  • WAVE Project (Welcoming All Valuing Everyone): $1,000 will support the Mobile Essentials Van Program, providing clothing, food, and hygiene products to individuals in Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne counties. 
  • For Kids Like Me: $600 will help fund the organization’s annual Backpack Give-A-Way, providing backpacks and school supplies for children from kindergarten through 12th grade. 
  • Detroit Food & Entrepreneurship Academy: $500 will support the afterschool Leadership Culinary Program by helping provide fresh ingredients, cooking supplies, take-home meal kits, and enrichment activities. 
  • The Rainbow Connection: $5,000 will support the Special Response Program, providing assistance with food, clothing, utilities, transportation, housing, and other urgent family needs. 

Collectively, the nonprofit organizations address a broad spectrum of community needs, from expanding opportunities for young people and supporting families facing hardship to increasing access to food, transportation, and other essential services. Through the grants, the Foundation continues to invest in organizations that are creating positive outcomes and strengthening the communities served by Christian Financial.

To date, the Christian Financial Credit Union Outreach & Impact Foundation has invested $304,992 in nonprofit organizations throughout southeast Michigan, advancing programs and services that support stronger families, thriving communities, and lasting impact.
